Pasta Carbonara Made Easy

When you eat too much spaghetti with marinara sauce, you will eventually go crazy. Okay, maybe not crazy, but certainly it will cause boredom to set it. And who wants to be bored, particularly when the subject of the boredom is one’s diet? And diet means what someone regularly eats as opposed to the foolish starving of oneself the word has become synonymous with.

Too many people eat their pasta the same way all the time – sauce, pasta, and maybe some meatballs, but no changes. Even lobster and steak will get boring if you eat it all the time without changing something up. Although there was one maniac who used to eat lobster tail with cheese whiz, but someone like that is not to be modeled or use as an inspiration. That guy is a four star lunatic.

Usually only a somewhat minor change is all that takes to make pasta appealing again to the bored. One such way to make a change is to forgo with all the old ways one made it and try out something completely unique such as pasta carbonara.

Pasta carbonara simply ‘rejects’ the classical pasta method and replaces it with quite a novel approach instead. Pasta carbonara is a mix of bacon, butter, eggs, cream, parsley and fettuccine. Sounds like a huge mix, but it is really a simple combination that can be mixed together in a relatively short period of time. (Or easier still is finding a good Italian restaurant that specializes in serving it!)

Pasta carbonara can normally be made from scratch and reach the dinner table within forty-five minutes. Sure, maybe you might mess it up the first few times you make it, but no matter. Just keep at it and it’ll eventually turn out fine.

In Search of Veggie Dining (Jackson Free Press)

I became a vegetarian a little while after my first visit to Kansas. Outside of Dodge City, out on the highway, is a special turnout with an overlook sign. The sign intrigued me, because a cursory glance didn’t reveal any particular natural phenomenon worthy of a special viewing.
